WAR OF THE ROSES ANNUAL CRICKET MATCH

Wednesday 25th August saw the annual cricket match between 4 YORKS and 4 LANCS take place.

More commonly known as the ‘War of the Roses’, this year’s battle took place on home turf at Rishton Cricket Club.

4 LANCS Regiment went on to win the 20 over match with 149 runs against 4 YORKS 74 runs.

It was a fantastic opportunity for all ranks to come together in a sporting environment and to meet our counterparts in 4 YORKS and establish new connections and reaffirm some old ones

4 LANCS team was captained by Sgt Peltier who led us to victory.

The match was followed by a BBQ and a presentation by CO 4 LANCS who awarded the man of the match to Mr Harrington who achieved 70 runs for 4 LANCS, presented a plaque to the umpires, and to Rishton cricket club and presented the Ashes to Sgt Peltier.

Well done LANCS and we look forward to next year 4 YORKS!
